St. Vincent announces a new album, shares new song 'Los Ageless'

Annie Clark’s new record MASSEDUCATION is out mid-next month.

The year of great returns and comebacks has just notched itself yet another exciting name, with official confirmation that we are receiving a new St. Vincent record. Having teased something through the release of her incredible single New York a month back, last night Annie Clark took to Facebook holding a mock press conference/livestream to officially confirm that a new album is coming, and very, very soon might we add. Releasing next month on October 13th with co-production credits from pop production king Jack Antonoff and features from the likes of Kamasi Washington, Jenny Lewis, Doveman and Sounwave, Clark’s follow up to her 2014 record St. Vincent is titled MASSEDUCATION. With Clark stating that “literally the only point of the record is it’s about love”, she also stressed that the title pronunciation is not what it appears at first glance. What looks like “Mass Education”, the new album is in fact pronounced “Mass Seduction”. During the mock press conference, Clark also joked with other ideas for the name of the new record “I did toy with calling the record Ass Education,”.

Having already heard the records first preview in New York, an ode to her city and the late David Bowie, news of a new record isn’t the only thing St. Vincent comes bearing with. The album announcement also comes with a brilliant new single in Los Ageless, with Clark returning to her pedestal as one of the world's best with the album's second tease. With Clark singing  “How can anybody have you? How can anybody have you and lose you? How can anybody have you and lose you, And not lose their minds, too?”, Los Ageless rings on that feeling of rejection. Lamenting through the songs outro (“I try to tell you I love you and it comes out all sick, I guess that’s just me, honey, I guess that’s how I’m built”), from the ignition of the thumping electronic beat, the infectiously jagged guitar and Clark’s unapologetic, broody vocal conveyance — Los Ageless is big, brazen and a song wrapped in frustrated heartbreak.
