Music videos are artistic extensions of the songs themselves, with many visual accompaniments becoming just as, if not more iconic than the song it was created for. As usual, some of our favourite songs of the week also had some of our favourite videos, with this week's list including new singles from the likes of BENEE, Daughter, Fly Anakin, Jack River featuring Genesis Owusu, Nicholas Allbrook and more, as well as a dope new video for that recent Gorillaz single!

BENEE - Green Honda

BENEE's back baby! Nearly a year on from her LYCHEE EP (and one of our fave interviews of last year) she's dropped new single Green Honda, a party starting cut of electro-pop, with a music video featuring the eponymous car and BENEE and friends partying in locations like junk yards and the desert.

Daughter - Party

British trio drop their second single for the year, a downtempo slice of indie-rock, with a video featuring vocalist Elena Tonra in a range of video portrait collages.

Fly Anakin - Outsidigan's Theme

Ever sat on the couch with a joint flipping channels and daydreaming about what's on the screen? Yeah, me neither... Fly Anakin's new video captures this vibe perfectly with a fun video accompanying the American rapper's new cut of smooth hip hop.

Gorillaz - Silent Running feat. Adeleye Omotayo

A few weeks after dropping the single, Gorillaz have followed up with a fantastical animated music video that feels like a combination of Tolkienesque fantasy and Pixar 3D animation.

Jack River - Endless Summer with Genesis Owusu

The latest single from River is the title track from her forthcoming album and sees her team up with Genesis Owusu for a breezy, psychedelic, 70s-esque slice of soft rock. The video sees the titular Endless Summer portrayed in a feverish manner, capturing those endless summer vibes.

JJUUJJUU - Nowhere

L.A. psych rockers' new single features an all too appropriately psychedelic video, animated by Micah Buzan and featuring an endless swirl of shapes morphing and fusing into themselves (DMT, anyone?).

Nicholas Allbrook - Jackie

We talked about the Pond front man's dope new single when it dropped earlieer in the week, with it also featuring an epic performative music video.

Sleaford Mods - Force 10 From Navarone feat. Florence Shaw

In a heavyweight English collab, Dry Cleaning vocalist Shaw teams up with the Mods for a frantic new single, with the video seeing the trio watching hologram versions of themselves in an empty pub.

slowthai - Feel Good

UK genre-hopping rapper's new video couldn't sum up the term Feel Good much better, seeing slowthai hanging out with 35 fans (selected from over 4,000 submissions) as they all listen to Feel Good in their homes.

Squid - Swing (Inside a Dream)

London-based post-punk art-rockers Squid announced their new record O Monolith (out June 9), with this awesome new single and video combo. Starting off misleadingly simple with a pair of guys shooting hoops in a gym, the video soon turns into a feverish, layered and hypnotic affair with some extremely clever editing.

Yaya Bey - exodus the north star

Flying the flag for authentic neo-soul and jazzy r&b in 2023 is Brooklyn's Yaya Bey, whose new reggae-infused single features a heartwarming, loved-up video.
