With so much new music coming out each and every day, it can be hard to listen to everything... but we'll be damned if we don't try. Here are our favourite tunes from the week that was from the likes of GUM, Hudson Mohawke & Nikki Nair, Kassa Overall, POOKIE & Kuzich, Lindstrøm, Loraine James, Rebel Yell, Squid, Swans and Tony Allen & Adrian Younge!

GUM - Race To The Air

Longtime Pile fave Jay Watson AKA GUM follows-up his recent collab with King Gizz/The Murlocs' Ambrose Kenny-Smith with a new cut of funky & majestic psychedelic sounds.


Hudson Mohawke & Nikki Nair - Set The Roof feat. Tayla Parx

The legendary HudMo teams up with Atlanta-based producer, DJ & vocalist for a new collaborative EP of hyperactive, UK Garage influenced club sounds. Set The Roof is out now via Warp.


Kassa Overall - Going Up (feat. Lil B, Shabazz Palaces & Francis and the Lights)

Seattle-based jazz musician, emcee, singer, producer and drummer invites some cult favourites to jump on the latest single from his new record. ANIMALS is out now via Warp.


POOKIE & Kuzich - Feel It In the Black

Boorloo/Perth via Naarm/Melbourne duo team up for a slick & sexy cut of soulful hip-hop, released as a limited 7" via the legendary Northside Records.


Lindstrøm - Syreen

Veteran Norwegian producer turns in a new cut of euphoric, uplifting Scandinavian uptempo electronica. Lindstrøm's new EP is out July 14 via Smalltown Supersound.


Loraine James - 2003

After releasing one of our favourite albums of 2022, forward-thinking British producer and vocalist announces her fourth record with a new single of experimental electronic pop. Loraine James' new album Gentle Confrontation is out September 22 via Hyperdub.


Rebel Yell - TNT feat. Black Dahlia

Naarm/Melbourne-based artist Grace Stevenson AKA Rebel Yell joins forces with Berlin's Black Dahlia for a new cut of industrial & stomping vocal techno flavours.


Squid - The Blades

English post-punk quintet deliver their latest single of genre-fusing rock sounds ahead of their sophomore LP. Squid's new album O Monolith is out June 9 via Warp.


Swans - Los Angeles: City of Death

Michael Gira's iconic experimental group announced their sixteenth studio album with a new single of building, atmospheric sounds reminiscent of their mid-90s output. Swans' new album The Beggar is out June 23 via Mute / Young God.


Tony Allen & Adrian Younge - No Beginning

The latest posthumous single of afrobeat inflected jazz sounds from one of the greatest to ever do its forthcoming new LP with Adrian Younge. Tony Allen JID018 is out July 7 via Jazz Is Dead.
