Introducing the work of artist Jon Shaw.

Jon Shaw is a graphic designer-turned-artist based in Vancouver, combining drawing and watercolour painting to create a unique style of art. His pieces can be identified by their layered appearance and distinctive subject matter, usually featuring streetscapes full of buildings, laneways and storefronts. He finds the elements involved satisfying, describing the process as "a series of expressive and uninhibited paint, collage and texture applications" from which he crafts a basic structure for the detailed illustrations, before adding and retracting various aspects of design and colour until each work feels harmonious.
