New Music: Conics - Burning Up

Conics continue flying the flag for indie-dance bands.

After releasing their 2013 debut EP Faces, Australian electronic group Conics shot to the spotlight, supporting acts such as Flume and RÜFÜS and being featured on blogs all throughout Australia. Now, the five-piece have returned with Burning Up, a fresh new track released independently this month, and one that harkens back to the heyday of acts like Cut Copy and Miami Horror. Burning Up signals a change in direction for the group, going with a synth-heavy, funky sound for their return, packed full of summery vibes. Listen below and if you’re over east be sure to check out one of their single launch shows when they play Shebeen Bandroom in Melbourne Saturday 27 March and Spectrum, Sydney on Saturday 4 April (both supported by Singles).
