Introducing - Plague Vendor

Get to know Cali punkers Plague Vendor, celebrating their debut album.

California four-piece Plague Vendor have just released their debut album, Free To Eat, which packs a shitload of punk-rocking good times in all of 18 minutes. It's all killer, and definitely cause to get to know 'em a little better. You can grab their album HERE:

Who are you?

We are Plague Vendor. P-L-A-G-U-E-V-E-N-D-O-R, like the song on FREE TO EAT. We're from Whittier, California.

How’d you meet?

We met some time early on in high school. All of us were in different bands at the time, except for Michael. He didn't start playing bass until we asked him to join P.V.

What kinda tunes we talkin’?

Someone said "graveyard groove" recently. We dig that. FREE TO EAT is definitely 6ft under. I just can't tell if the next thing we do is going to head straight down to hell or dig it's way back up through the soil.

Writing process:

All four of us have to be together. Once one of us sniffs the slightest bit of bogusness in a song, the song is tossed. There isn't any use trying to write a song without your whole band together at the same time. I never want to be on stage playing a song with the three other guys and not remember the genesis of it.

What do you do outside of PV?

Drink brew, skate, eat good, chicks, family, read, the beach, watch music, listen to music. We spend a lot of time together, and we have a good group of people around us. We don't spend too much time at home.

Any shows coming up?

This May will be our first time playing the UK. We're going to London for a week to bang out a few shows and meet some people. We're playing May 21st at Sebright Arms and the 22nd at Old Blue Last. Can't wait to be in England and fuck shit up, politely of course ;)

What’s the rest of the year have in store?

There is the Vans Warped tour for most of the summer. We thrive during the hot weather months, so I'm sure we'll be cramming some shows in around L.A. when we get back from Warped, last minute shows with friends or whatever. There are a few other things we're not allowed to talk about, yet. But overall it's the same thing we've always been doing; playing everywhere and anywhere they want us to.

Where can we hear more of your gear?

A lot of our fan made clips are cool. Dig around YouTube, you'll find something interesting.
