Swim in a sea of shoegazey goodness with HYLA's new single, Swam Out

They've also joined top shelf artist booking roster, Gun Fever.

Perth-based four-piece HYLA have come out today with two pieces of most excellent news. Firstly, they've just released a dreamy new single, Swam Out - the first track to be taken from their forthcoming debut album, which is due for release later this year. And well that kinda makes two pieces of good news already, so it's actually three with the announcement they've also joined the Gun Fever artist booking roster, who look after some of this state's finest bands.

But back to the track, it's quite possibly their best work to date, with frontman and songwriter Alex Hayes working with revered producer Sam Ford (Abbe May, Pond) and mastering engineer Brian Lucy (Arctic Monkeys, The Kills), to knock out something pretty special. When it comes to the kinda shoegazey, dream-pop sounds HYLA rock out, the devil is in the details, and Swam Out is drenched in warm, melancholic layers of haze, which combined with Hayes' lush vocals puts them right up there with the greats of the genre.

You can dwell in all the single's glory when they launch it live at The Bird on Friday 31 March, with support from Ah Trees, Segue Safari and Peppermint Showers (more info HERE).
