Listen: Mike Krol - Turkey LP

Listen: Mike Krol - Turkey LP

20 minutes of fuzzy, scuzzy, buzzy pop from LA.

Mike Krol’s been making superbly damaged power pop for three albums now, but outside of the USA and even his local area he’s a relative unknown. Making music that sounds like the early recordings of garage rock staples Ty Segall and Mikal Cronin, the tracks are heavy on fuzz and treble, but most importantly; hooks.

Turkey is his third album, and while he doesn’t take many detours from his existing sound, it feels like there’s an obvious focus on making every track killer; it’s probably his most balanced work to date. Highlights include This Is The News and Neighbourhood Watch, the latter of which just received a wacky music video treatment:

Check out the video stream below, which features some excellent graphic design from Krol himself and a charming infomercial aesthetic. Turkey is out TODAY.
