10 Songs That Inspired Jack River's Latest (And Great) Single, Fool's Gold

She's playing a couple of east coast launch shows this week!

In the humble opinion of this website, Fool's Gold is Jack River's best work yet. We touched on that fact plenty when we posted about the single's very awesome, Matt Sav-directed video clip, so it's nice to be able to follow that up with some thoughts from the lady herself on what inspired such a landmark single in her career. Check out the songs that inspired Fool's Gold below, and those two upcoming shows down the bottom:

"Quaint melody-driven verses with carved out honesty, giant fuck off chorus’ with heart and grit and throwing it back to all the bangers that I want to hear when I look back in regret/wonder and want to feel like I’m in a movie. I wanted each lyric in Fool's Gold to be something vivid, and each part to make you feel something real. I referenced songs of my early youth that conjured up my own personal teenage dream and matched that feeling with a story from my own personal now."

When I Grow Up (D Lissvik Remix) - Fever Ray

Feels Like We Only Go Backwards - Tame Impala

SOS - ABBA

Warm Tape - Red Hot Chili Peppers

Torn - Natalie Imbruglia

Covered In Chrome - Violent Soho

Pumped Up Kicks - Foster the People

Teenage Dirtbag - Wheatus

Stacy’s Mom - Fountains Of Wayne

Malibu - Hole
